Terms of Service

Last updated: May 1, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SmartHarness (the "Service"), a web application for designing and managing vehicle wiring diagrams, operated by Webmatter Solutions LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep your password confidential, and notify us promptly at support@webmatter.io if you suspect unauthorized account access. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

2. Subscription plans and billing

The Service is offered on a free tier and on paid subscription tiers ("Builder Monthly" and "Builder Yearly"). Free-tier limits and paid features are described on our Pricing page and may change with notice.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method at the then-current rate until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the customer billing portal accessible from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. We may change pricing on notice; changes apply to the next renewal.

Failed payments may result in temporary loss of paid features until payment succeeds. Sales taxes and similar charges are your responsibility unless we are required to collect them.

3. Your content

You retain all ownership rights in the projects, diagrams, custom components, and other content you upload or create on the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit, and display Your Content solely as necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service for you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and we will not use it to train machine-learning models without your explicit consent.

If you generate a public share link (/s/...), you understand that anyone with the link can view the corresponding diagram in read-only mode until you revoke it.

You represent that Your Content does not infringe any third party's rights and complies with applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to design or distribute content that violates any law or third-party right;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent technical limits of the Service except to the extent permitted by law;
  • access the Service through automated means at a rate or volume that could degrade availability for others;
  • attempt to access another user's account or content without authorization;
  • upload malware, attempt to exploit security vulnerabilities, or interfere with the Service's operation;
  • resell or commercially redistribute the Service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe violate these rules.

5. Safety disclaimer — important

The Service produces design-aid diagrams, not certified electrical-engineering deliverables. Vehicle wiring is safety-critical: incorrect designs, undersized wire gauges, missing or wrong fuse protection, improper grounding, or incorrect connector terminations can cause fire, electrical shock, vehicle damage, serious injury, or death.

You are solely responsible for:

  • verifying that any wiring design you generate is appropriate for your specific vehicle, components, and operating conditions;
  • complying with all applicable laws, codes, manufacturer specifications, and motorsport sanctioning-body rules;
  • having qualified personnel review, build, and test physical wiring before it is used in a vehicle;
  • inspecting and maintaining the wiring once installed.

The catalog of components, gauges, colors, fuses, and connectors provided in the Service is reference material and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated values. Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for engineering judgment, manufacturer documentation, or qualified inspection.

6. Service availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and may release updates that change behavior. We will give reasonable notice of material adverse changes when practical.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, component catalog, and documentation (excluding Your Content), is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose during the term of your subscription or free use.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that diagrams, component data, or any output of the Service are accurate, complete, or fit for any particular vehicle or application.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we or our affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including damages for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, personal injury, property damage, or fire, arising out of or related to your use of the Service or the physical construction of any wiring based on output of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability arising out of or related to these terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates from any claim, damage, or expense arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account from the Account page; deletion is immediate and permanent and will cancel any active subscription on the spot, terminate any active share links, and remove your projects, diagrams, custom components, and other content. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms or if continued operation would expose us or others to legal or security risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) survive termination.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in-app notice before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Texas for any dispute that is not required to be resolved by other means under applicable consumer law.
